Breast augmentation with silicone implants offers a smoother and more natural option compared to saline implants. These implants are filled with cohesive silicone gel that resembles the texture of breast tissue. They provide a more natural look and feel.

What are the steps involved?

Anesthesia and Incisions: The patient is administered general anesthesia. The surgeon then makes incisions, typically in inconspicuous locations such as the natural crease under the breast, around the areola, or in the armpit.

Implant Placement: The surgeon creates a pocket either behind the breast tissue or under the chest muscle (pectoral muscle). The silicone breast implant, chosen based on the patient’s desired size and shape, is carefully inserted into the pocket.

Closure and Recovery: After ensuring proper implant placement and symmetry, the incisions are closed with sutures. Patients are advised on post-operative care, including wearing a supportive bra and avoiding strenuous activities for a few weeks. Recovery typically involves some swelling and discomfort initially, but this subsides as the breasts settle into their new shape over time.
