LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE
It’s essential to consider every instruction provided by your surgeon both after the surgery and throughout the post-operative period.
Among these instructions is the post-operative lymphatic drainage massage, a procedure highly recommended by most specialists to enhance and expedite the recovery process.
WHAT IS A LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE?
A lymphatic drainage massage is a specialized therapeutic technique recommended for patients undergoing plastic surgery procedures. This massage focuses on stimulating the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in the body’s healing and recovery process after surgery.
How many massages should you get?
We recommend you to get as many massage sessions as you can during your post-op period for BBL and Lipo related procedures, but a minimum of ten sessions is a must to obtain optimal results.
For breast procedures massages are not mandatory, but we recommend up to three sessions for optimal results.
IMPORTANCE OF POST-OP LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE
Post-Surgery Healing: After your plastic surgery procedure, your body may experience swelling, inflammation, and fluid retention as part of the natural healing process. Lymphatic drainage massage helps reduce these symptoms by promoting the circulation of lymphatic fluid, aiding in faster recovery and healing.
Minimizing Swelling and Edema: Swelling and edema are common after plastic surgery, especially procedures like liposuction or breast augmentation. Lymphatic drainage massage gently encourages the removal of excess fluid and toxins from tissues, leading to reduced swelling and a more comfortable recovery.
Enhancing Immune Support: Plastic surgery can temporarily impact your immune system as your body focuses on healing. Lymphatic drainage massage supports immune function by facilitating the movement of immune cells through the lymphatic system, helping you recover more effectively.
Optimizing Cosmetic Results: By reducing swelling and promoting circulation, lymphatic drainage massage can contribute to more optimal cosmetic results from your plastic surgery. It can help maintain the contour and shape achieved during surgery while minimizing post-operative complications.
Relaxation and Comfort: Beyond its therapeutic benefits, lymphatic drainage massage offers relaxation and comfort during your recovery period. The gentle, soothing strokes can alleviate tension, promote a sense of well-being, and support your overall recovery experience.
